hey hey
hey guys,
long time not talk/see/etc! sounds like you guys are doing awesome, which is great =) hmmm so after graduation, i did a service year with AmeriCorps as a firefighter/EMT in delaware (delawhere?) which was a really good experience and a lot of fun. it was nice just doing what i wanted until the alarm went off, but then i had to enter the real world. once my background investigation was complete, i went to work in DC/northern VA as a consultant to the Intelligence Community. the job is amazing (i'm a counterintelligence/counterproliferation specialist) and i get to see and work on a lot of stuff that just boggles my mind. sucky part is that i work in a black hole with no cell phones, no regular phones, no internet...really no connection to the outside world =/ but in the DC/NOVA area, this is sort of common, i guess. i've been attending Open Door Presbyterian Church here, and i've run into some penn people, dan ko, angel, jina, julius, helen, etc which was cool. i'm really happy here and i'm sad to be leaving in a few weeks because i've decided to be a doctor =P i love my job, but i want to pursue a job where i'm helping without hurting, and medicine feels like my calling
so i'm going to be starting premed postbac classes at bryn mawr (they have a coed premed postbac grad program) in may, so that i can take all the science prereqs and my mcat in one year and them hopefully off to med school either that year or the next... if any of you guys did this and have any advice, let me know! hopefully (in the better part of a decade), i'll be dr. gene, hehe.
it was awesome reading about wat you guys are doing right now! lets try to keep this thing going!

Greetings
Hello Lovely People,
Thanks to Bebe and Chung for setting this up. It's a great idea and it's wonderful to hear from you all.
After graduating, I moved down to the Greater DC area where I've been working in the distrcit ever since. Though I entertain a mundane 9-5 schedule, I enjoy my work and I'm grateful for the learning experience. This semester, I started taking part time classes toward an MBA, which has kept me busy during the weekends.
As some of you may recall, I'm originally from Baltimore and it's close enough where I can go home on the weekends to say wattup to the ma and pa and attend my home church. Even though I've been going to the church since I was a kid, I finally became a member and I serve on the AV Team.
I hope everyone is well, and hit me up if you're ever in this area. Go Nova! =)

Funny Story!
ok i have to share a story:
on wednesday I got called to a large house fire in the afternoon. This poor family's house was entirely gutted.. i didn't even have to crawl through the burned house because there was only a skeleton left! they were already low-income, and one of the women had bone cancer and her medications had burned in the fire. While i was interviewing her about her medications, i suddenly felt SHARP pains in my legs... like something was biting me. I couldn't say anything because this poor woman was trying to talk to me... but the pain got worse until I had to say "i am soo sorry, i'll be right back!" I jumped into our Red Cross truck and basically had to completely derobe... only to find ANTS all up in my jeans!!
ants in my pants. haha. and very painful.
when i came out of the truck all of the victims were cracking up because they could see the truck shaking from me jumping around in there to try to get all the ants off of me. I was apparently standing on an ant hill.
sigh. at least i provided some comic relief in the midst of tragedy, i suppose.

hi guys! journalism student and i love every minute. been reporting, producing and writing for video and radio. helping out on weekends at the academy eddo started here in jersey. we're well. eddo and i have become jersey homebodies. the city is a rare excursion, besides my trips to school. i'll be heading to ireland in a couple days for a class trip. taking a course on religion journalism and so we've been studying the religious melting pot in that country. if anyone wants a guinness or an autograph from bono, lemme know. ha! and if you wanna check out my videos, click here. eddo has been most patient driving me to my shoot locations or carrying my tripod. he says, "hi!" as we sit at the academy right now waiting for students. best to all!

hello 06
hey everybody.. like Beebs said, i think we haven't done that great of a job keeping in touch with one another.. :(
so we made this blog in order to fix that! i was thinking of sending out a mass e-mail, but i thought that would probably get really messy.. so we made this blog.. :)
i sent you all an invitation to be authors on this thing so please respond and if you don't have a gmail account, i think you're going to have to register.. if you already have a gmail account, all you have to do is accept the request and sign in with your own gmail username and password.. and voila! you can post on our blog!
please let me know if there's anybody i missed.. i sent out an e-mail to everybody i could find on facebook, and i'm sure that i missed a couple of people here and there..
now, for an update on what i've been upto since we all graduated.. i'll try to keep it simple and write about the big things in my life upto this point..
i flew right out to orange county to attend talbot school of theology and to serve as the jr. high pastor at fullerton presbyterian church.. i've been serving at the church for almost 3 years (i started in may 2006 right after we graduated!) and i've been in school since the fall 2006 semester.. i didn't really get much of a break from school.. i'm hoping to graduate by may 2010 and after that i don't know where God will lead.. i ultimately want to go abroad and serve as a missionary, but i don't know for sure where or in what capacity.. i may even stay in the US depending on where God calls me and what He places on my heart..
i've come to learn that the people are what really make the place special.. i'm thankful for the nice weather and the good food and all the fun stuff there is to do here in california, but more than anything, i love the students that i'm serving, the friends and staff i get to serve with, and the EM members of our church.. i've made a couple of friends at school too.. that's pretty much my life - school and church..
it's been such a blessing having Chris Ko here in LA.. we get together (usually only when we have visitors from out of town) and we share.. we vent about what frustrates us about the culture here, the struggles we have serving at church, and the difficulties we have living as faithful witnesses of Christ on a day-to-day basis.. we feel that though outwardly everything is just so nice out here, there are so many distractions that lead us to live scatter-brained lives and it's so easy to blindly chase after the American dream..
wow.. this is getting long.. that's all i had to say.. ministry and school have all been a great learning experience.. i love the fact that there are so many latinos here.. i love it.. i miss black people though.. haha
hope to hear from you guys! post, post, post!!! :)
